Privacy policy

If you create an account we store your email, username and password (encrypted). Your account works on both the app and cafepal.co.uk.

Reviews you write, with your username and star rating, are public on CafePal.

If you allow it, your location is used on your device to show cafés near you. We don't store or share it.

Your saved and visited cafés are kept on your device.

We count anonymous activity — such as café views, saves and taps on Directions — to learn which cafés people enjoy. This uses a random device code, not your name, and is never used to track you across other apps or websites.

Maps are provided by Google Maps, which receives the map area you view. See Google's privacy policy for details.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. Your profile details are removed; reviews stay on cafés as "Former member".
